Women's basketball team wins again, beats El Camino

The Irvine Valley women's basketball team won its sixth game in a row on Friday night as part of the final game of the El Camino Crossover event.

IVC defeated host El Camino, 62-45.

Irvine Valley improved its record to 6-0 overall, while El Camino fell to 1-4 on the season.

The Lasers were led by freshman guard Christen Ziska and sophomore forward Giselle Martinez, who scored 10 points each.

Sophomore guard Kennedy Pucci added nine points and seven assists, sophomore post player Alara Ersu added eight points and freshman guard Trasara Alexander had her usual all-around game with seven points, 12 rebounds and two assists.

The Lasers shot 46 percent from the field (23 of 50) and out-rebounded El Camino, 41-28.

Irvine Valley plays again on Tuesday at El Camino.
