No. 18 women's basketball team takes on Saddleback Wednesday

Saddleback has a record of 3-9 overall and is 0-2 in the Orange Empire Conference.

The Gauchos are coming off an 83-77 loss at home last Friday to Copper Mountain. Raven Herrington and Joice Beda each scored 20 points for Saddleback.

Beda also had 12 rebounds and three steals.

Kayla De Leon added 15 points and three steals and Aeryka Miles chipped in six points and eight rebounds.

On the year, Herrington averages 14.3 points and 3.7 assists, Beda is averaging 12.8 points and 13.7 rebounds, De Leon averages 12.4 points and 4.3 rebounds and Samanna Trinh averages 10.3 points and 4.0 rebounds a game for Saddleback.

 

Irvine Valley has a record of 12-3 overall and 2-0 in the Orange Empire Conference.

IVC is ranked 18th in the state and 10th in South California.

The Lasers opened up OEC play with an 89-41 win over Orange Coast and then a 61-45 victory over Fullerton last week.

Last Friday, IVC went on a 10-0 run to end the first half, getting eight straight points from sophomore guard Lexi Vail and never looked back in the win over Fullerton.

Freshman guard Anai Washington finished with 20 points and six rebounds.

Vail had another solid game with 14 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and four steals.

Sophomore forward Ryane Bradbury added 11 points and five rebounds, freshman center Zoe Stachowski contributed 13 rebounds and freshman guard Megan Herrera had six assists and four steals.

On the year, Washington averages 13.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.1 steals, Zoe Stachowski is averaging 11.5 points and 13.7 rebounds, Herrera is averaging 10.9 points and 2.9 steals and Vail is averaging 11.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game for Irvine Valley.
