Basketball player Patricia Tidwell-McClure headed to Bacone

Sophomore women's basketball player Patricia Tidwell-McClure has signed to play at Bacone College in Oklahoma in the fall.

Tidwell-McClure was a key player on IVC teams that had a combined record of 50-12 overall and 21-3 in the Orange Empire Conference the past two seasons.

She helped the 2015-16 Irvine Valley team finish with a mark of 27-4 and win the conference title with a perfect record of 12-0.

Irvine Valley won two playoff games and reached the Southern California Regional playoff finals.

The 2015-16 team followed that up with another trip to the regional finals.

This past year, IVC finished with a record of 23-8 overall and 9-3 in conference. The Lasers were second in the conference standings.

Tidwell-McClure averaged 4.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game this past season.

She scored in double figures in two games and had at least six points in 11 contests.

Tidwell-McClure scored 13 points in a 63-44 Irvine Valley win over Bakersfield early in the year and had 11 important points in Irvine Valley's 64-49 playoff win over Cerritos. She added six rebounds and three assists in that win over Cerritos.

Tidwell-McClure grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds Irvine Valley's 81-28 victory over Cuesta last November and she had three steals in the Lasers' 58-35 conference win over Riverside.

Tidwell-McClure attended Vista High in San Diego and was named her team's most inspirational player as a senior.

She is headed to a Bacone team that is part of the NAIA and competes in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The team finished with an 11-19 record last year.
