Basketball player Jasmine Kennon signs with Bristol

Irvine Valley sophomore women's basketball player Jasmine Kennon has signed to continue her academic and athletic career at Bristol University.

The university, located in Anaheim, plays an NAIA schedule.

Kennon, a 5-7 guard, was a two-year starter for the Lasers. She averaged 8.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for Irvine Valley this past season.

She scored in double figures in 13 games with a season-high of 20 points in a game against Orange Coast.

Kennon recorded a season-high nine rebounds in games against Canyons and Orange Coast.

She helped Irvine Valley to a record of 18-11 overall and a trip to the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

Kennon, from El Toro High, averaged 8.7 points in her two-year career at IVC, while starting 52 of the 58 games she played.

Kennon averaged 8.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game as a freshman in 2012-13 as Irvine Valley had a record of 21-11 overall and reached the third round of the playoffs.

Kennon is the third IVC player to sign to play at a four-year school next year. Sophomore forward Taylor Casey signed with Biola and sophomore guard Kiara King signed with Cal State San Bernardino.
