Men's volleyball team sweeps Fullerton for third win in OEC

The Irvine Valley men's volleyball team, ranked No. 4 in the state, stayed perfect in Orange Empire Conference play on Wednesday night, sweeping Fullerton, 25-13, 28-26, 25-14, in an Orange Empire Conference match on the road.

The Lasers improved their record to 9-4 overall and 3-0 in conference.

Irvine Valley has a bye on Friday and then takes on No. 1 in the state Orange Coast at home next Wednesday at 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, Irvine Valley was led by freshman setter and opposite Grant Dvorak and sophomore outside hitter Damon Kooiman with eight kills apiece.

Kooiman hit .727 in the match with eight kills, no errors in 11 attempts.

Dvorak also finished with 18 assists for IVC.

Freshman libero Domenic Marquez had a team-high nine digs for the Lasers.

Sophomore setter Nick Hinker contibuted eight assists in the win.

Irvine Valley hit .324 as a team in the victory.
