Men's volleyball standout JT Demure signs with Concordia

Irvine Valley freshman men's volleyball player JT Demure has signed with NCAA Divsion I Concordia University in Irvine for the 2023 season.

Demure is a 6-5 freshman outside hitter than helped Irvine Valley capture the Orange Empire Conference title in a COVID shortened spring season in 2021

It will be a homecoming with the Eagles for Demure. He red-shirted at Concordia in 2020.

Demure played in 16 sets and 10 matches with one start at Concordia and collected 13 kills, six digs, and three aces.

Demure, from Granite Bay High in Northern California, averaged 2.93 kills per set and hit .318 for Irvine Valley this past spring. He was second on the team in kills per set and total kills (192) and also ranked second on the squad in total digs (66) and digs per set at 2.36.

IVC had a record of 8-2 overall and defeated favorite Orange Coast in the OEC Tournament championship match in four sets, 26-24, 25-17, 22-25, 25-17 at OCC in late May.

Demure will be headed to a Concordia program that is headed by new coach Riley Salmon, who is a former Olympian.

Demure and Irvine Valley begin the 2022 spring season on Jan. 28 at Antelope Valley at 6 p.m.
