There wasn't much change in the California Community College Men's Volleyball Coaches Association State Poll for this week.

Irvine Valley, coming off a big, five-set win over Golden West at home last Friday, stayed at the No. 4 position for the sixth straight week.

And the top seven teams stayed the same with only the eight and nine spots changing.

Orange Coast remained the dominant No. 1 team. The Pirates received every top vote from coaches and are still undefeated with a record of 16-0.

OCC has dropped just seven set all season. The Pirates are a perfect 12-0 in sets against Orange Empire Conference opponents. They host No. 4 Irvine Valley to start the second round of OEC play this week.

El Camino, at No. 2, has won 10 straight heading into this week's big match-up with Long Beach City on Wednesday at LBCC. The Warriors have a record of 12-1 overall and 7-0 in the Western State Conference and lead the Vikings by a match for first place.

It is a big-time match for playoff seeding going forward.

Long Beach City is right on El Camino's tail and is looking to move up in the rankings and help its playoff seeding with a win on Wednesday at home against the Warriors.

The Vikings have won seven in a row. Their last loss was a tough, five-game defeat at El Camino on Mar. 1.

Irvine Valley hangs it at No. 4 in the rankings, but has Santa Barbara right behind.

The Lasers have an important match at No. 9 Santiago Canyon on Wednesday night. IVC is trying to stay in second place in the conference and secure its playoff spot going forward. The Lasers play at No. 1 Orange Coast on Friday at 6 p.m.

The rest of the top 10 looks like – Santa Barbara City, holding on to a solid third-place standing in the WSC, Golden West, which took Irvine Valley to five sets last Friday on the road, Santa Monica, which moves up a spot to No. 8, Santiago Canyon, which falls a place to ninth and Fullerton, which comes in 10th for the second straight week.
