Men's volleyball team bounces back with a sweep at Fullerton

Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team got back to its winning ways on Friday night with a sweep of Fullerton in an Orange Empire Conference match at Fullerton.

The Lasers won, 25-15, 25-22, 25-20 to improve their record to 9-5 overall and 1-1 in conference.

The Lasers, ranked No. 4 in the state, were coming off of a tough three-set loss at home last Friday to Orange Coast, which is ranked No. 1 in the state.

Irvine Valley got nine kills from freshman middle blocker Tristan Belsby. He also hit .500 on the night.

Freshman middle blocker Grant Marrochi ended with seven kills and four block assist and sophomore outside hitter Sean Carroll had seven kills for the Laser.s

Freshman setter Isaiah Powell contributed 34 assists in the win.

Irvine Valley plays again on Friday, hosting Golden West in a big conference match. It is a battle for the second position in the OEC.
