Men's volleyball team has easy time in sweep of Miramar

Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team bounced back from a loss to El Camino with an easy sweep of San Diego Miramar on Wednesday night at home.

The Lasers, who are ranked No. 4 in the state, improved their record to 7-4 overall.

Miramar fell to 1-6 overall.

Irvine Valley hit .338 on the night and coach Ryan Windisch was able to rest some of his top players in the final set.

The Lasers had five players with at least four kills in the contest.

Freshman right side Demetre Gossett had seven kills, hit .500 and had three aces.

Freshman outside hitter Declan Holder had six kills and seven digs, freshman middle blocker Tristan Belsby had six kills and six block assists and sophomore outside hitter Sean Carroll finished with four kills.

Irvine Valley freshman setter Isaiah Powell contributed 30 assists and four digs.

The Lasers play again on Friday, traveling to San Diego Mesa for a 6 p.m. match.
