Men's volleyball team goes on the road to sweep LA Pierce

Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team got back to its winning ways on Wednesday night, taking down LA Pierce, 25-23, 25-19, 25-11, on the road.

The Lasers snapped a two-match skid and improved its record to 4-2 overall. Pierce, who is the defending state champion, saw its record slip to 1-2 overall.

Irvine Valley held on in the first set and then got better with each and every set to close things out.

Irvine Valley finished with a .369 hitting percentage as a team.

Sophomore outside hitter Sean Carroll led the way for the Lasers with nine kills and three digs. He hit .437 on the night.

Freshman outside hitter Declan Holder finished with seven kills and three digs and hit .667, freshman middle blocker Tristan Belsby added six kills and three blocks and freshman middle blocker Grant Marocchi ended with five kills, six blocks and hit .555.

Freshman libero Jonathan Immanuel contributed six digs and freshman setter Isaiah Powell had 31 assists, three block assiss and three digs for IVC.

Irvine Valley plays again Thursday night at Palomar at 7 p.m.
