Five men's volleyball players named all-conference

Five players from the Irvine Valley men's volleyball team were recently named to all-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference teams.

Freshman opposite Davis Cannon and freshman outside hitter AJ Hammer were each named to the first team.

Cannon led the team in kills with 198, averaging 3.05 kills per set. Cannon ranked first on the team in aces with 18 and was third on the squad in total blocks with 46.

He also had a hitting percentage of .298.

Hammer ranked third on the team in kills with 161, averaging 2.27 per set. Hammer was second on the team in digs with 77, a 1.08 average and also finished with 13 aces.

Freshman outside hitter Cole Murray was picked second team.

Murray, who was named all-tournament at the State Championships, was second on the Lasers in kills with 177 for a 3.00 per set average. He hit .315 on the team, which tied for second.

Murray was also third on the squad in digs with 64, averaging 1.08 per set.

And freshman setter Steven Duhoux and freshman libero Ryan Spector were both selected to the third team.

Duhoux led IVC in assists with 467 for a 8.81 per set average. He also finished with 48 digs.

Spector was first on the team in digs with 107 for a 2.14 average.

The Lasers finished third in the conference and reached the semifinals of the State Championships this season.

Irvine Valley ended with a record of 13-8 overall.
