Men's volleyball team takes down Pierce in five

Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team made it two wins in a row with a tough five-set victory at LA Pierce on Wednesday.

The Lasers came out on top 25-27, 25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 15-12.

Irvine Valley got contributions from all over.

Freshmen setters Steven Duhoux and John Lasezky ran the offense with 25 and 23 assists, respectively.

Freshman outside hitter Cole Murray had 18 kills, six digs and four blocks, freshman outside hitter AJ Hammer ended with 12 kills and five blocks, freshman opposite Davis Cannon finished with 10 kills and three blocks, freshman middle blocker Kevin Vaz had 10 kills and six blocks and freshman middle blocker Matt Mittry chipped in six kills and five blocks.

Freshman libero Ryan Spector added five digs.

The Lasers improved their record to 2-2 on the season.

IVC plays again Friday when it hosts El Camino at 6 p.m.
