Men's volleyball team drops season opening match at Moorpark

Irvine Valley struggled with consistency in its season opener, falling at Moorpark in four sets last Friday night. Moorpark came out on top, 27-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-20.

The Lasers were led by freshman opposite Davis Cannon and freshman outside hitter Cole Murray. Cannon ended with 18 kills and eight digs, while Murray had 15 kills and two aces.

Freshman outside hitter AJ Hammer added 12 kills and six digs.

Freshman libero Ryan Spector also chipped in six digs.

Irvine Valley had 30 hitting errors and 21 serving errors as a team in the match.

Irvine Valley will try to get in the win column when it plays its home opener on Wednesday againast Santa Barbara City at 6 p.m.

The Lasers' next two matches after that are both on the road. IVC plays at Santa Monica on Friday at 6 p.m. and then is at LA Pierce at 1 p.m. on Feb. 12.
