The Irvine Valley men's tennis team had no problem in its first Orange Empire Conerence match of the season.

The Lasers, who had a tough pre-conference schedule against a top team in the state (College of the Desert) and three four-year schools, started its conference with a 9-0 victory over Fullerton at home on Tuesday afternoon.

Irvine Valley received three defaults, getting wins at No. 3 doubles and the fifth and sixth courts in singles.

But sophomore Hugo Redelinger was solid at No. 1 singles for Irvine Valley, winning, 6-2, 6-3.

Freshman Louis Boisdenghien came through with a 6-0, 6-1 victory on the second court for IVC and freshman Shane Iranpour won, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 4 singles for the Lasers.

Freshman Dylan Edwards closed the overall match out at No. 3 singles, defeating the Hornets' Jeff Lawton, 6-3, 6-3. Edwards took the final three games in the second set for the win.

Irvine Valley, which improved its record to 2-3 overall, plays again on Friday, traveling to OEC rival Riverside for a 2 p.m. match.
