Men's tennis team continues to roll with win at Riverside

Irvine Valley's men's tennis team followed up its big Orange Empire Conference win over Fullerton on Tuesday with another good one Thursday on the road.

The Lasers defeated Riverside, 6-3, to improve their record to 6-1-1 overall and 4-0 in conference.

Irvine Valley is unbeaten in its last seven matches.

IVC won two of three doubles contests and showed the depth in its lineup by earning wins from its third through sixth singles players.

Irvine Valley started by getting an easy 8-1 win from its No. 3 doubles team of sophomore Mateo Maya and freshman Victor Chaix

The Lasers also earned a key victory on the first doubles court. Sophomore Julian Lafond and freshman Luis Moros defeated Riverside's Auro Lien Arlot and Chris Lee.

In singles, Irvine VAlley picked up straight-set victories from Moros, Chaix, freshman Hugo Redelinger and freshman Blake Anderson.

Moros lost just two games at No. 3 singles, Chaix dropped just four games on the fourth court, Redelinger won, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 5 singles and Anderson continued his dominant play on the final court with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
