Irvine Valley's men's tennis team routed Saddleback, 9-0, at home in an Orange Empire Conference opener.
The Lasers, who are the defending conference champions, had little trouble with the Gauchos to improve their record to 2-1-1 overall.
IVC was coming off a 4-4 tie due to darkness in a home match with four-year Hope International on Tuesday.
Irvine Valley dropped just four games in three doubles victories to start the day.
And then sophomore Julian Lafond, freshman Akshay Harishankar, freshman Victor Chaix, freshman Hugo Redelinger, freshman Blake Anderson and sophomore William Li cruised in singles action.
Among the standouts were Harishankar, who won, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 2 singles and Chaix, who came out on top, 6-2, 6-0, at the No. 3 spot, and Anderson, who won, 6-1, 6-1, at the No. 5 position.
In doubles, Lafond and sophomore Luis Moros won, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles, sophomores Jacob Holiday and Leonardo Oliveira earned a 8-1 victory and sophomore Mateo Maya and Chaix turned in a 8-0 win at the No. 3 position.
Irvine Valley is back in action on Tuesday in another conference match at Orange Coast at 2 p.m.
