Men's tennis team sweeps past College of the Desert

Irvine Valley's men's tennis team rolled to another early-season victory on Tuesday afternoon at home.

The Lasers, two-time defending state champions and ranked No. 1 in 2017, defeated College of the Desert, 9-0.

Irvine Valley improved its record to 2-0 overall. The Lasers swept past four-year Hope International 10 days ago.

IVC dominated in both singles and doubles on Tuesday.

Laser players dropped just six total games in singles and seven games in singles with four different players winning, 6-0, 6-0.

Freshman Wyatt DeMulling won, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 1 singles for IVC and sophomore Lucas Lesoeur came out on top, 6-1, 6-1, at the second spot.

Sophomore Javier Callejo, Chris Politiek, Leszek Mirecki and Luis Castillo each won, 6-0, 6-0, in their matches.

DeMulling and Politiek teamed to win their No. 2 doubles match, 8-0.

Irvine Valley plays again next Thursday. The Lasers open up Orange Empire Conference play at Orange Coast at 2 p.m.
