Men's tennis team has easy time at Orange Coast

Irvine Valley's men's tennis team ran its record to 4-0 in the Orange Empire Conference with a 8-1 win at Orange Coast on Thursday afternoon.

The lone match the Lasers didn't win came in doubles.

In singles, IVC captured all six matches and won five of the six in straight sets.

IVC freshmen players won the first four singles contests.

Flavien Raveau won, 7-6, 6-3, at No. 1 singles.

Carson Williams captured a 6-2, 6-3 win at the No. 2 spot.

Scott Paz came through with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles and Bruno Figlia won, 6-0, 6-1, at the No. 4 position.

Sophomore Max Rumeau won, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 5 singles for IVC and freshman Stan Gavoty came out on top, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 6 singles.

The teams of Rumeau and Raveau and Williams and Paz each won easy matches in the doubles competition.

Irvine Valley, which is ranked No. 1 in Southern California, also stayed unbeaten at 7-0 overall.

The Lasers take on San Diego Mesa in a non-conference match on Friday at home at 10 a.m.
