Alumni Report: Daniel Segal shines at Westcliff University
Former Irvine Valley college men's soccer player Daniel Segal helped NAIA Westcliff University to its best season in program history.
 
The Warriors (18-2) dominated throughout the regular season shutting out their opponents and breaking scoring records left and right.
 
They only suffered one loss on their way to becoming the 2023 Cal Pac Regular Season Champions, followed by winning the 2023 Cal Pac Championship.
 
Westcliff made their NAIA Championship debut and took down No. 11 Rio Grande in the second round which earned them a spot at the final site in Wichita, Kan.
 
In the round of 16 matchup, the Warriors battled hard against the reigning champions Bethel (IN) as their historic season came to an end following a 2-0 loss.
 
The 6-0 midfielder and defender, Segal, finished with one goal and three assists for five points this past season. He was named an all-Pac Cal Conference player.
 
Segal appeared in 19 matches and made 18 starts.
 
At IVC during the 2019 season, Segal ranked second on the team in goals, tied for second in assists and was second in points. The team went 8-8-7 overall.

He ended with eight goals, six assists and 22 points.

Segal, a former Irvine High player, helped IVC reach the CCCAA South Regional Playoffs and end the 2018 season with a record of 8-10-3 overall.
