Irvine Valley sophomore men's soccer player Christopher Camarena has signed with NAIA Westcliff University in Irvine.
Camarena was a two-year player for the Lasers.
He helped IVC finish with a record of 12-4-6 overall and 7-6-1 in the Orange Empire Conference for second place last fall.
Irvine Valley fell, 1-0, in double overtime at Mt. SAC in the playoffs.
The forward played in 42 matches for the Lasers the last two seasons, starting 13 contests during the 2022 campaign and 17 games in 2023.
During the 2022 year, Camarena finished with five goals and threee assists and this past season, he ended with four goals and two assists.
He also had five-game winning goals over his two years with IVC.
Camarena, from Foothill High, is headed to a Westcliff program that had a special season in the fall of 2023.
The Warriors finished No. 13 in the nation in the NAIA.
Westcliff ended with a record of 18-2 overall, won the Cal Pac Championship with a mark of 11-1 and reached the round of 16 of the NAIA Soccer Championships.
