Grant Miller scores two in Irvine Valley's win over Cuyamaca

The Irvine Valley men's soccer team moved even further up the ladder in the state on Tuesday afternoon at home with a 2-1 victory over Cuyamaca at home.

IVC captured its fourth win in a row and moved its record to 5-2-0 overall.

The Lasers were ranked No. 10 in power points in the state this week and knocked off No. 18 Cuyamaca.

Irvine Valley went on the board first with a beautful goal from a perfect service from sophomore forward Fred Becovic to sophomore forward Grant Miller in the 32nd minute.

Cuyamaca tied the game in the 53rd minute with a goal by Marco Santillan.

But IVC kept battling and won the match in the 73rd minute when Miller scored his second goal of the match. He was in the right place off of a re-direct from sophomore midfielder Jacob Edwards.

Laser freshman keeper Josh Simonton finished with three saves overall.

Irvine Valley starts Orange Empire Conference play next Tuesday at home against Golden West at 3 p.m.
