
The Irvine Valley men's soccer team stayed on top of the Orange Empire Conference standings with a draw at Fullerton on Tuesday afternoon.
No goals were scored by either side, but their was plent of action.
Irvine Valley's record went to 8-4-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference. Fullerton moved to 6-4-3 overall and 2-1-1 in the OEC.
The star for Irvine Valley was freshman goalie Tygo Steenvoorden, who made a diving save on a penalty kick in the second half to keep the contest scoreless.
Irvine valley had chances with sophomore midfielder Julian Svoboda hitting the post with a shot and sophomore defender Steven Osuna having a goal disallowed.
"It was a really pleasing performance," IVC coach Conor Ward said. "The game had everything apart from goals. Both teams had chances to win it so it is a fair result.
"It is always a really tough place to play on the road. Fullerton have a lot of support and they make their presence known."
Irvine Valley is back in action on Monday with a make-up match against Golden West at home at 3 p.m. The squads' regular-scheduled contest was shut down due to weather earlier this week.
