Soccer Alumni Report: Max Kleinhammes stands out at Cal Poly

Former Irvine Valley men's star soccer player Max Kleinhammes finished a successful year at NCAA Division I Cal Poly.

The Mustangs ended with a record of 7-6-4 overall in the fall of 2021.

Kleinhammes, the #38, played in 16 matches. scored one goal and had two assists in 2021.

At Irvine Valley, Klenhammes had a special season in 2019.

The freshman played in 23 matches and scored 11 goals, which was tied for tops on the team.

The dynamic striker scored four game-winners for IVC.

Kleinhammes was named first team all-Orange Empire Conference after the 2019 campaign. He had two goals in the team's opening match against Rio Hondo on Aug. 27, 2019 and kept on going.

Kleinhammes also scored two goals in a match against Fullerton (Oct. 4, 2019) and recorded game-winning goals against San Diego Mesa, Norco, Fullerton and Santa Ana.

The former JSerra striker finished with 22 points for the Lasers.

Irvine Valley ended with a record of 8-8-7 overall in 2019 and made the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

IVC had to cancel its 2020 season due to the pandemic.
