Men's soccer player Benji Asabi signs with Life Pacific

Irvine Valley sophomore men's soccer player Benjamin Asabi has signed with NAIA Life Pacific University in San Dimas.

Life Pacific is starting its program for men's soccer in the fall of 2020.

Asabi will be playing for former IVC associate head coach Shaun Harris. 

Asabi stood out once he stepped on the field at Irvine Valley.

And he especially shined his sophomore year. The striker scored 12 goals in 2019 with two assists. And he had a team-high 26 points for the team and was named first all-Orange Empire Conference.

Irvine Valley finished 8-8-7 overall and with strength of schedule, made the CCCAA So. Cal. Regional Playoffs. The squad lost in the first round of the playoffs in overtime at Orange Coast.

Asabi, who came to IVC from Orange High, scored a career 16 goals with 34 points in his two years at Irvine Valley.
