Scott Clark, a standout men's soccer player at Irvine Valley the past two season, is now playing at Whittier College.

Clark signed with the Poets over the summer.

Clark was a two-year starter as a defender for Irvine Valley, starting 34 matches over two seasons.

He had one goal and one assist during the 2015 season and then recorded three assists during the 2016 campaign.

Clark helped the Lasers reach the So. Cal. Regional Playoff Finals in back-to-back seasons and capture an Orange Empire Conference title in 2015.

IVC finished with a record of 16-5-3 overall in 2016.

Irvine Valley took second place in the Orange Empire Conference, ended up ranked seventh in the state and 10th in the nation.

He was part of an IVC defense that gave up just 31 goals in 24 matches last season.

Clark, who came to Irvine Valley from Trabuco Hills High, joins a Whittier team that plays in NCAA Division 3.

The Poets started the season with a 3-1 loss at Vanguard last Friday. Clark started as a defender for Whittier.
