Men's soccer team moves up two more spots in state poll

With another win last week, the Irvine Valley men's soccer team moved up two more spots in the state rankings.

Irvine Valley is now ranked sixth in the California Community College Soccer Coaches Association State Poll.

The Lasers have a record of 4-1-0 overall.

Irvine Valley defeated Moorpark, 3-1, in its lone game last week. The Lasers were coming off a third-place finish in the Hartnell College Tournament.

The top 10 teams in the state in order are Fresno City, Mt. San Antonio, Santa Rosa, Hartnell, Oxnard, Irvine Valley, Lassen, Feather River, Santa Ana and Fullerton.

Irvine Valley is one of four teams from the Orange Empire Conference in the state poll. The Lasers are sixth with Santa Ana ninth, Fullerton 10th and Golden West 11th.

Irvine Valley plays at Rio Hondo on Tuesday and then is home to Santiago Canyon to start conference play on Friday at 3 p.m.
