Men's soccer team ranked No. 14 in the nation by NSCAA

Irvine Valley's men's soccer team is ranked No. 14 in the nation in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Junior College Division III Poll.

The Lasers are No. 14 for the third straight week. They were as high as No. 12 on Oct. 13. IVC has been ranked in the national poll for the last eight weeks.

Irvine Valley, which is ranked No. 7 in the latest California state poll, has a record of 11-2-4 overall. The Lasers have won five matches in a row and are in first place in the Orange Empire Conference with a mark of 8-0-2.

In the NSCAA poll, Irvine Valley is the sixth team from California in the poll.

Hartnell is ranked No. 2, Mt. SAC is fourth, Rio Hondo is sixth, Santa Rosa is ranked No. 10 and Evergreen Valley is No. 11.

The top-ranked team in the national poll is Genesee Community College from Batavia, N.Y.

IVC plays its next three matches on the road and they are all important. The Lasers are at Santiago Canyon this afternoon at 3 p.m.

Irvine Valley then plays at second-place in conference Golden West on Friday and is at Santa Ana next Tuesday.

IVC closes out the regular season on Friday, Nov. 13 with a home match against Cypress.
