Men's golf team has five players shoot in 70's at Riverside

Irvine Valley's men's golf team had one of its best performances of the season Monday at the Riverside Invitational at the Victoria Club.

The Lasers ended up fifth in the overall standings.

But IVC was a lot closer than that.

The Lasers ended the event tied for third with a team score of 376 before the standings were decided on the score of the sixth player.

Irvine Valley finished with a total of 376 along with Orange Empire Conference rivals Cypress and Mt. San Antonio.

Canyons won the match with a score of 363 and Reedley was second at 369.

Irvine Valley had five players shoot in the 70's once again.

Sophomore Caleb Humble led the squad with a score of 72, which tied for the fifth best individual score on the day.

Humble and Mt. SAC's Kotara Noda each came in at 72.

Freshman Connor O'Brien and sophomore Greg Williams each finished at 75, sophomore Armand Flamer-Caldera carded 76 and freshman Kellen Kudrna shot 78.

Sophomore Jackson Bragg finished at 80 for the Lasers.

Irvine Valley plays again Monday, Mar. 2 in a conference match hosted by Cypress at the Navy Course at 9:15 a.m.
