Four players shoot in the 70's, men's golf team places seventh

Irvine Valley's men's golf team placed seventh with a score of 391 at the Riverside City College Invitational on Monday at the Victoria Club.

Eleven teams competed in the event.

Cypress won with a score of 365 and Orange Coast finished second at 369.

Irvine Valley finished ahead of Saddleback (396), College of the Desert (401), Mt. San Jacinto (404) and Cuyamaca (409).

Irvine Valley had four players shoot in the 70's, led by freshman Caleb Humble. He came in at 75.

Freshman Dustin Vasquez shot 78, freshmen Troy Nuewa and Greg Williams each carded 79, freshman Cooper Knight ended at 80 and freshman Jackson Bragg had a score of 82.

Palomar's Kyoshiro Azumada and Jacob Montes each shot 69 to share medalist honors.

Irvine Valley will get back to Orange Empire Conference action on Wednesday when it travels to play at Candlewood Country Club in Whittier. The match is being hosted by Cypress.
