Men's golf team finishes in sixth place in home OEC match

Irvine Valley's men's golf team took its turn in hosting an Orange Empire Conference match on Monday.

The Lasers had two players score in the 70's, but came away with a sixth-place finish in the event at Tustin Ranch Golf Course.

Irvine Valley ended with a team score of 408.

Cypress won the match with a score of 375, edging Mt. SAC (381) and Orange Coast (383).

Riverside came in fourth place at 397 and Saddleback finished fifth at 406.

Cypress' David Mariss was the medalist on the day with a round of 69.

Irvine Valley was paced by freshman Dustin Vasquez at 77 and freshman Caleb Humble, who carded 79.

IVC's other scorers were freshmen Jackson Bragg (83), Greg Williams (84) and Cooper Knight (85).

Irvine Valley plays again on Friday in a Woods Scalp match at Laguna Woods Golf Club at 8:30 a.m.
