Irvine Valley's men's golf team placed fifth out of 14 teams at the Orange Empire Conference Tee-Off Classic on Wednesday at Candlewood Country Club in Whittier.
The Lasers ended with a team score of 397 to finish behind Reedley (370), Santa Barbara City (383), Mt. San Antonio (383) and Cypress (387).
Irvine Valley came in front of teams such as College of the Desert (401), Saddleback (404) and Riverside (430).
Freshman Dustin Vasquez paced the Lasers with a 4 over par score of 74.
Freshman Jackson Bragg also shot in the 70's for IVC, coming in at 78.
Freshmen Cooper Knight (80), Troy Nueva (81) and Greg Williams (84) rounded out the team scoring for IVC.
Irvine Valley plays again next Monday at the Cuyamaca Classic at the Willow Glen Golf Course at the Sycuan Resort in El Cajon.
