Men's golf team places 12th at Mt. San Jacinto Classic

Irvine Valley's men's golf team finished 12th out of 15 teams at the Mt. San Jacinto Eagle Classic on Wednesday at the Soboba Springs Country Club in San Jacinto.

The Lasers ended with a team score of 422 for 12th. IVC finished ahead of El Camino, Antelope Valley and Victor Valley.

Mt. San Jacinto won the event with a team score of 376. College of the Desert was second at 380 and orange Coast came in third at 381.

The match was also counted in terms of conference wins and losses.

IVC went 0-5 on the day.

The top player for the Lasers was sophomore Joe Gordon, who finished with 10 pars and eight bogeys for a score of 80.

Sophomore Andrew Lichty came in at 81 with two birdies, eight pars, six bogeys and two double bogeys.

Freshman Bruce Miranda shot 86 after three birdies, three pars, nine bogeys, one double bogey and two triple bogeys. Freshman Kurt Hendricks shot 87 with two birdies, five pars, seven bogeys, two double bogeys and two triple bogeys and sophomore Steven Zezima came in at 88 with one birdie, five pars, seven bogeys and five double bogeys.

Freshman Albert Arvayo had IVC's throw-out score of 97.

Irvine Valley plays again next Monday at the Riverside Invitational at the Victoria Club.
