Kalob Hatcher joined the Irvine Valley coaching staff four seassons ago after formerly starring as a Laser player.

Hatcher was an all-Orange Empire Conference player and IVC's team MVP after his sophomore season in 2011-12.

He ranks second all-time in career assists at Irvine Valley with 237.

Hatcher finished up playing at  Montana State University Billings last season and was named second-team all-Great Northwest Athletic Conference at the conclusion of the 2013-14 season.

Hatcher led MSUB averaging a GNAC best 8.0 assists per game. That number ranked fourth in the NCAA Division II nationally.

He also averaged 11.9 points per game and led MSUB in minutes played averaging 38.8 per game last season. He dished out a career-high 14 assists against Simon Fraser University on Feb. 15 and had a career-high 29 points against Saint Martin’s University on Feb. 1.

Before attending Irvine Valley, Hatcher was a star at Foothills Christian in the San Diego area.

He ended his high school career with 2,129 points, 1,209 assists and 249 three-pointers. His assists mark set a new California state record, eclipsing the previous mark of 1,165 held by 10-time NBA All-Star and current Dallas Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd. He also ended his time third in section history in three-pointers made and 12th in career points.

Hatcher was a part of four straight CIF championships in San Diego County and was a four-year captain for his varsity squad while also earning all-league honors all four years.
