Men's basketball team to host playoff game Tuesday night

The Irvine Valley men's basketball team earned the No. 13 seed in the California Community College Athletics Association So. Cal. regional playoffs and will host No. 20 Long Beach City on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Spectators are welcome with social distancing and masks are required.

Ticket pricing is $12 (adults) and $8 (students and children). No conference passes will be accepted.

Parking is free in Lot 8 next to the tennis courts.

The Lasers have a record of 18-10 overall, while Long Beach City is 17-11.

Irvine Valley finished tied for fourth in the Orange Empire Conference with a record of 9-7.

The Lasers are led by sophomore guards Luc Krystkowiak, Aaron Strings and JT Robinson.

Krystkowiak averages 14.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.

Strings averages 11.9 points and 2.1 assists per game.

And Robinson averages 8.3 points per game.

Long Beach ended in a three-way tie for first place in the South Coast Conference South with Cerritos and LA Southwest. All three teams went 7-3.

Bonard Johnson Jr. and Lorenzo Marsh each average 12.7 points per game for the Vikings. And Kameron Mayhan is averaging 12.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
