Men's basketball team takes care of Santa Ana on the road

Irvine Valley's men's basketball team won its third straight game and sixth of seven contests with a 72-60 Orange Empire Conference victory at Santa Ana on Wednesday night.

The Lasers got another strong game from sophomore forward Aaron Strings

He finished with a game-high 21 points on 8 of 18 shooting from the field, including going 5 of 9 from three-point range.

Freshman guard Gavin O'Neill added 17 points with six rebounds and five assists.

Sophomore guard Luc Krystkowiak added 12 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists in the win for the Lasers.

IVC shot a solid 45.6 percent  (26-57) from the field and made 13 three-pointers.

The Lasers also out-rebounded the Dons, 37-23.

Santa Ana (4-13, 1-6) was paced by Brandon Green with 16 points. 

IVC, ranked No. 19 in the state in the latest CCCMBA state poll improved its record to 13-6 overall and 5-3 in the OEC. The Lasers are now in fourth place in the conference.

Irvine Valley plays again on Friday in a conference grame at No. 15 Riverside.
