Linsky, Hernandez named all-conference for men's basketball

Irvine Valley's men's basketball team had two players named second team all-Orange Empire Conference last week at the annual end of the regular season coaches meeting.

Freshman forward Jake Linsky and sophomore guard Daniel Hernandez each earned second-team honors.

The duo helped Irvine Valley finish with a record of 14-15 overall and 3-9 in the tough OEC.

Linsky avearged 13.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.9 blocks per game. He played and started in 27 games.  

He ranked fifth in the conference in rebounds per game and 15th in points per game.

Linsky scored in double figures in 22 games and had three games with 20 or more points.

Hernandez played and started in all 29 of the team's games. He averaged 11.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

Hernandez scored in double figures in 18 games and had a season-high 28 points in IVC's 71-37 victory over Cuyamaca last Nov. 16.

He knocked down 58 three-pointers on the season and finished his Irvine Valley career with 85 three-pointers made and 493 overall points.
