
Irvine Valley's baseball team had four players named to all-Orange Empire Conference teams after the coaches annual meeting on Monday night.
Sophomore right-hander Caden Byers was selected to the first team and sophomore center fielder Shane Stafford, freshman catcher Aaron Serrato and freshman right fielder Kade Murray were picked to the second team.
Byers threw 74.1 innings for the Lasers and had a record of 6-3 overall. He finished with a 3.51 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP. Byers struck out 59 batters on the year.
In conference action, he went 3-2 in 41.1 innings and ended with a 4.57 ERA. Byers struck out 30 batters.
Stafford batted .289 on the season with a .372 on base percentage and .546 slugging percentage. He hit nine home runs with 12 doubles, 34 RBI and seven stolen bases. In OEC play, he batted .262 with five home runs, 17 RBI and a .500 slugging percentage.
Serrato ended with a .256 batting average overall and had three home runs and 19 RBI. In conference, Serrato hit .273 with three home runs and 17 RBI.
He also threw six runners out in conference action.
Murray led the Lasers in batting on the year, hitting .318 overall. Murray had one home run, 10 doubles and 20 RBI.
In conference, he batted .329 with one home run and 13 RBI. Murray struck out just 13 times overall on the year and seven times in conference.
Irvine Valley finished with a record of 14-26 overall and 5-16 in conference.
