The Irvine Valley baseball team played has seen its share of extra-inning games so far this season.
The Lasers were in another one on Thursday afternoon at home.
And IVC was outlasted by LA Valley, 7-6, in 11 innings.
Irvine Valley's record fell to 9-8 overall. LA Valley leveled its record at 8-8 overall.
It was the IVC's fourth game that went into extras.
The Lasers trailed, 6-2, after LA Valley scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning.
But Irvine Valley answered right away and got back into the contest with three runs in the bottom of the frame.
Sophomore second baseman Nolan Cusey and freshman center fielder Shane Staffor each hit sacrifice flies to get IVC within 6-4.
And then sophomore catcher Connor Tallakson scored sophomore shortstop Nick Madole with a single to bring IVC to 6-5.
Irvine Valley pushed across a run in the bottom of the ninth with an RBI single up the middle by freshman third baseman Kevin James.
The game remained tied until the 11th inning when Sean David led off with a solo home run to give the Monarchs a 7-6 lead.
After being hit by a pitch, Cusey moved to third base with two outs in the bottom of the 11th, but a groundout ended the game.
Elvis Park went 4 for 5 with a double, walk and two RBI and David went 3 for 6 with a home run and two RBI for LA Valley. Tyler Olivas also added three hits, including two doubles.
Zach Perez picked up his first win of the year on the mound, throwing two scoreless innings to end the game.
Irvine Valley was led at the plate by James, who went 2 for 5 with two RBI. Sophomore left fielder Drew Porter and sophomore right fielder Noah Madole each also had two hits for IVC. Madole, who doubled and walked, also contributed one RBI.
Sophomore righty Austin Chapman started on the mound and went five innings. He gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
Sophomore right-hander Ryan Barlow took the loss in the 11th. He gave up one run and finished with two strikeouts.
The Lasers are back in action on Tuesday, hosting Cypress in the first game of Orange Empire Conference play. IVC hosts the Chargers at 2 p.m.
