Former Irvine Valley baseball standouts Eric Burckle and Hank Schineller had solid 2022 seasons to help Georgetown College in Kentucky to an impressive 31-20 overall record.
Georgetown ended its run in the Mid-South Conference Tournament falling to Campbellsville University, 11-5, this past May.
Burckle, a junior third baseman, batted .324, which was third-best on the team. He went 55 for 170 at the plate with six doubles, two home runs and 30 RBI. He also finished with 11 stolen bases.
He played in 49 games for Georgetown.
Schineller, a junior first baseman, played in 47 games and batted .280 with eight home runs, which tied for the team high.
He had an OPS of .889, which was third on the squad.
Shineller led Georgetown with 40 RBI. He also added 10 doubles and three triples.
Burckle hit .321 with 18 runs, seven doubles, one home run and 26 RBI in a pandemic-shortened 2021 season for the Lasers.
Schineller had three doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI for the Lasers in 2021.
