Pitcher Keenan Cisneros signs with Georgetown College

A number of Irvine Valley baseball players have signed to continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year schools over the last few weeks and they will each be highlighted over the coming week at www.ivclasers.com

Irvine Valley sophomore pitcher Keenan Cisneros has signed with NAIA Georgetown College.

He will join sophomore teammate David Rojas with the Tigers (upcoming release) along with former IVC players Ryan Gaynor and Zack Stack, who helped Georgetown to another solid season in 2019.

Cisneros was a main part of the Irvine Valley rotation the last two seasons.

The right-hander out of Tesoro went 3-5 with a 4.37 ERA this past year for Irvine Valley. He was third on the team in innings pitched with 59.2 and ended with 27 strikeouts.

Cisneros started 11 games for the Lasers this past year.

His best start came against state champion Orange Coast, allowing just one run on two hits with four strikeouts in six innings. Cisneros picked up the victory in IVC's 10-8 win.

Irvine Valley finished with a 20-19-1 record and just missed making the postseason.

As a freshman in 2018, Cisneros went 2-3 with two saVES AND A 4.39 era in 65.2 innings. He was used as both a starter and reliever. He made 10 starts and ended the year with 37 strikeouts.

He is headed to a Georgetown team that ended the year with a record of 45-15 overall and made the finals of the 2019 NAIA National Tournament Opening Round.

The team finished with 42 wins in the regular season, which was the most regular season victories in program history.
