Irvine Valley's baseball team finished its season on Friday with a 10-1 Orange Empire Conference loss at Saddleback.
Saddleback took all three games of the final series of the year.
Irvine Valley ended the season with a record of 20-19-1 overall and 5-16 in conference action.
The series started last Tuesday with a tough 10-9 loss for the Lasers in 15 innings at Saddleback.
IVC then fell to Saddleback, 4-1, at home on Thursday before dropping the season finale on Friday.
On Friday, the Lasers were in the game until the sixth inning.
Irvine Valley trailed, 1-0, heading into the top of the fourth inning, but tied the score on a RBI single by freshman left fielder Kyle Dobson.
But Saddleback scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead for good. Saddleback added a run in the bottom of the seventh and then pushed five more across in the bottom of the eighth inning.
IVC was out-hit, 15-7, in the contest.
Sophomore center fielder Ben McConnell was 2 for 4 with a stolen base, Dobson went 1 for 4 with one RBI and freshman shortstop Robert Haw went 1 for 2 with a run scored.
Sophomore Keenan Cisneros started on the mound for IVC and went 5.1 innings. He gave up four runs on nine hits with two strikeouts.
Sophomores Chad Burchit and Paul Colignon, freshman David Kotin, sophomore Noah Bradford and freshman Adam Auriemma each pitched in relief for the Lasers.
Willie Lajoie was 4 for 5 with two RBI, Demetri Colacchio and Riley Kasper each had three hits and scored two runs and Reed Beverly was 2 for 5 with two RBI for Saddleback.
Hunter Ash took the win on the mound, going six innings and giving up one run on four hits with five strikeouts.
Saddleback finished the regular season 21-18 overall and 9-12 in conference play.
On the year for Irvine Valley, Dobson led Irvine Valley with a .395 batting average, 62 hits and 38 RBI. Sophomore second baseman Trent Whitaker hit .373 with 19 RBI, freshman first baseman Pu'ukani De Sa batted .342 with 26 RBI and McConnell hit .365 with 37 runs and 17 RBI.
On the mound, freshman Brennen Farber pitched a team-best 74.0 innings and had a 2.68 ERA. Sophomore Justin Dunham led the squad with a 2.08 ERA. He pitched 73.2 innings with 52 strikeouts.
