Four baseball players named all-Orange Empire Conference

Irvine Valley's baseball team had four players named to all-Orange Empire Conference teams earlier this week.

Freshman relief pitcher Noah Bradford was selected to the first team and sophomore shortstop Colin Conroy, freshman center fielder Ben McConnell and sophomore first baseman Cooper Moore were each picked to the second team.

Irvine Valley ended up with a record of 18-22 overall this season and was 8-13 in the always tough Orange Empire Conference.

Bradford, a 6-2 right-hander, led IVC in wins and saves.

He made 24 appearances and had a record of 7-3 overall with two saves. He threw 45.1 innings and had a 2.78 ERA with 32 strikeouts.

Conroy, who recently signed with Towson State, played in 32 games for the Lasers and ended with a .314 batting average with 25 runs scored, 11 RBI and six stolen bases. He was third on the team in batting average and second in runs. He also struck out just nine times on the year in 102 at bats with 22 walks.

McConnell, who had a big freshman year, played in all 40 games for IVC and led the team in batting average at .358. McConnell added one home run, 13 doubles, seven triples, 41 runs, 32 RBI and five stolen bases. He led the team in doubles, triples runs and RBI.

And Moore finished the year strong for IVC. He ended up with a .283 batting average with three home runs, 16 RBI, 19 runs scored and nine stolen bases. He hit .329 in conference with three home runs and 14 RBI.
