Baseball player Clint Jack named So. Cal. player of week

Irvine Valley sophomore baseball player Clint Jack was awarded with Southern California Player of the Week honors by the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association after a huge week last week.

Jack batted .467 for the week, going 6 for 11 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored. Jack capped the week with a five-hit performance in Irvine Valley's 17-2 win at West Los Angeles last Friday.

On the season, Jack is batting a team-leading .442 with 23 hits, three doubles, six RBI and 10 runs scored. He's had multiple hits in seven of Irvine Valley's 11 games so far, including at least three hits in five games.

Irvine Valley, with a record of 6-5 overall, hosts LA Valley on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
