Women's beach volleyball team drops two at home Wednesday

Irvine Valley's women's women's beach volleyball team played its third and fourth matches of the season on Wednesday at home.

The Lasers were right with MiraCosta, but ended up falling, 3-2. IVC Then took on four-year Westcliff and dropped the contest, 4-1.

Against MiraCosta, Irvine Valley picked up wins on the second and fourth courts.

The freshmen duo of Audrey Fowler and Halen Keifer won, 21-18, 21-13 at the No. 2 spot. Sophomores Natalia Brandlin and Felicia Bonus earned a 23-25, 21-12, 15-6 at No. 4 for IVC.

Irvine Valley lost a tough match at No. 3 with sophomore Mia Bertolone and freshman Avery Bennett falling, 21-19, 15-21, 15-12.

And vs. Westcliff, IVC's top team of sophomores Tessa Marocco and Kenzie Dews came away with a 21-12, 21-11 victory for the squad's lone win.

Irvine Valley plays again on Friday in their first Orange Empire Conference matches of the season. The Lasers take on Cypress and Orange Coast in Huntington Beach.
