Beach volleyball player Chloe Swanson is headed to St. Mary's

Irvine Valley women's beach and indoor volleyball player Chloe Swanson has committed to NCAA Division I St. Mary's.

The Gaels compete in the West Coast Conference and had a record of 15-19 overall this past spring.

Swanson helped the IVC beach team to an Orange Empire Conference Eastern Division title and to a California Community College Athletic Association Regional Final this year.

Irvine Valley won the OEC division title with a 9-1 record.

She played with all of the top pairs in the IVC lineup this year and earned all-OEC honors.

Swanson made the round of 16 at the California Community College Athletic Association state event with Barett Nolan. Nolan recently signed with Colorado Mesa

Swanson also played for the IVC indoor team in the fall of 2022.

The squad finished with a record of 20-5 overall, won a conference title and made the second round of the CCCAA regionals.

Swanson, a 5-10 outside hitter/opposite out of Newport Harbor High, averaged 1.91 kills and 2.01 digs per set for the Lasers with indoor team in 2022.

She had a season-high 12 kills in Irvine Valley's four-set conference win over Orange Coast on Sept. 21, 2022.
