Irvine Valley's women's beach volleyball team picked up two Orange Empire Conference victories on Friday at home.
The Lasers beat both Cypress and Santa Ana by the scores of 5-0.
IVC's match with Cypress was a lot closer than that, however.
The Lasers won on both the first and second courts in three sets. Both IVC squads had to rally back to do it.
Irvine Valley's top team of sophomore Hailee Earnest and freshman Carlee Roethlisberger defeated Cierra Boaz and Susan Suski, 20-22, 21-18, 15-7.
And the team of sophomores Kayla Scheevel and Hannah Matt beat Dominique Parker and Rockelle Gholson, 17-21, 21-15, 15-13.
IVC picked up straight-set wins from the teams of sophomore Emily Reinking and freshman Olivia Aguilar and the team of freshmen Alissa Blevins and Rachael Woods.
IVC's fifth team of freshman Brittany Tuliau and sophomore Taylor Askins won by forfeit.
Irvine Valley then had a little easier time with Santa Ana, winning all five matches in two sets. Earnest and Roethlisberger topped Chloe Anderson and Trinh Nguyen, 21-10, 21-8, at the No. 1 pairing.
Tuliau and Askins won, 21-12, 21-6, at the No. 5 spot.
Cypress topped Santa Ana, 3-2, also on the day.
Irvine Valley improved its record to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
The Lasers play again on Monday, hosting four-year schools Loyola Marymount and Grand Canyon at the Newland Street Courts in Huntington Beach.
