
Irvine Valley's women's sand volleyball team scored a pair of 5-0 wins on Friday afternoon at home.
The Lasers defeated both Rio Hondo and Santa Ana.
Irvine Valley improved its record to 6-4 overall this season. All four of its losses have come against four-year schools.
The win over Santa Ana was a conference victory for the Lasers.
Against Santa Ana, IVC got straight set wins from all five of its teams.
IVC's No. 1 team of sophomores Marisa Doran and Kobi Pekich won, 21-10, 21-9.
The No. 2 team of sophomore Annie Mitchem and Emily Reinking came out on top, 21-14, 21-5.
Playing No. 3, the duo of freshmen Hailee Earnest and Hannah Matt won, 21-10, 21-11.
At No. 4, sophomore Samantha Holdredge and freshman Kayla Scheevel won, 21-10, 21-16.
And IVC's No. 5 team of sophomore Shaelyn Perez and freshman Taylor Askins came through, 21-9, 21-2.
Irvine Valley is back in action on Friday, April 10 in another conference match-up. The Lasers will play Orange Coast at the Newland Street sand courts in Huntington Beach.
