In leading up to the start of the each school year, the Irvine Valley athletics department counts down the top 10 Irvine Valley sports stories from the previous school year.
This countdown first appeared during the summer of 2014 and highlighted the many accomplishments both on and off the court of IVC teams and individuals.
The countdown begins in August and finishes up just before the start of fall sports action.
This year's official 2017-18 Irvine Valley athletics schedule starts on Friday, Aug. 25 with a pair of home contests and one on the road. The IVC men's soccer team plays at home against Rio Hondo at 3 p.m. and then the Laser women's volleyball squad takes on Citrus at 5 p.m. in Hart Gymnasium. The Irvine Valley women's soccer team also begins play in the Las Positas Tournament that day.
With a lot of success by Irvine Valley teams year in and year out, the selections for the annual IVC top 10 stories also end up being difficult ones.
This year's list will begin being posted on Monday, Aug. 14.
