Devin was first drawn to Sports Medicine as an Irvine Valley student-athlete, competing for the men's soccer program between 1997-99. Head trainer Janet Olsen introduced Adams to principles of athletic training as both an athlete and in the student-internship program.

During his time at IVC, he successfully earned an athletic scholarship to Vanguard University, where Adams completed a BS in Athletic Training. He was first employed at an outpatient rehabilitation and sports therapy clinic where he increased his foundation in sport specific rehabilitation.

This directed Adams toward his current position as an Athletic Trainer at Irvine Valley, where he has been since 2003.

In 2007, Adams completed an MA in Sport Management at CSU Long Beach, and continues to pursue various experiences in athletic administration. Additionally, over the years, he has worked with numerous youth soccer, volleyball and surfing camps; as well as taught swimming and lifeguarding. 
 
PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS 
 
Adams is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), College Athletic Trainers Society (CATS), California Athletic Trainers Association (CATA), and the California Community College Athletic Trainers Association (CCCATA). He consistently attends numerous athletic training symposiums and conferences to remain up-to-date on the most recent research and treatment protocols, incorporating them into practice with student-athletes at the IVC athletic training clinic. 
 
He is also a member of the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and holds certifications as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES). 
 
Adams has received the ImPACT Concussion-Trained Athletic Trainer Certification (ITAT), and holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid. 
 
And he currently holds positions as an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) representative for IVC, and the CCCATA athletic training representative for Women's Beach Volleyball.
